Die Arbeit der beiden Künstler steht an der Schnittstelle zwischen bildender Kunst und Musik, und bedeutet doch ein Verlassen dieser beiden Dimensionen. Musik und Bild als Werkzeug werden vom Betrachter als Koordinatensystem eingesetzt. Die Skulptur entsteht im Publikum. Die Positionierung (der Wand im Abstand 1 Meter vom Bild entfernt) erzwingt eine Nähe, erzeugt ein Ausgesetzt sein.
Material und akkustische Signale werden durch Leerräume in reduzierter Maltechnik und Anordnung der Klangkörper im gesamten Mehrkanalspektrum auseinandergehalten. Im System trifft der Betrachter auf präzise vorgegebene Punkte der Lesbarkeit. Die Unmittelbarkeit ist eine veränderliche. Die Dynamik der Betrachtung schafft Ordnung.
Weder ist das Bild hörbar, noch die Klanginstallation sichtbar. Die Zustandsschleife ist endlos. Die Zustandskonfiguration wechselt mit jedem Durchgang. Raum wird unmittelbar. Die Frage nach den Trägermedien stellt sich nicht mehr. Die Empfindung ist dazwischen.
Beide Künstler haben bereits Erfahrung mit der Auseinandersetzung mit Räumen, im Bruch mit der Präsentation von klassischen Medien, mit räumlich, skulptural und installativen Systemen.
„Die Wand“ ist Teil einer Serie: „die Wand“, die „Brücke“,
der „Keil“, weitere Arbeiten sind in Vorbereitung.
Sie werden vom Dichter Ferdinand Schmatz textlich begleitet. Pils/Pulsinger
entwickeln für jeden Ausstellungsort eine limitierte Edition. Für
die Vernissage in Japan ist ausserdem eine elektroakkustische Liveinszenierung
von Patrick Pulsinger (Elektronik) und Werner Dafeldecker (Upright Bass) vorgesehen.

Er ist verantwortlich für zahllose internationale Veröffentlichungen
und Liveauftritte.Eine besondere Exkursion stellte die Neuberabeitung des Balletklassikers
Schwanensee an der Wiener Volksoper dar, für die er 2000 den Österreichischen
Förderungspreis für Musik gemeinsam mit Erdem Tunakan erhält.

Get the idea:
The artists’ work occupies the junction between fine arts and music and cannot be claimed exclusive to either of the two dimensions. Music and image act as tools and are projected onto the implied coordinate system by the observer.The sculpture emerges in the audience. The positioning (e.g. the wall is only 1 meter from the picture) enforces a proximity, it creates an exposure.
Material and accoustic signals are kept apart by voids resulting from reduced painting techniques and the positioning of the sound generators in the whole multichannel spectrum. In the system the observer becomes a participant: The narratives become contingent on the real-time passage of the observer. The immediacy fluctuates. The dynamics of observation arrange order.
The image is neither audible, nor is the sound installation visible. The conditional loop is endless. The configuration of state changes with every passage. Space becomes intuitive. The issue of medium disappears. The perception is interspersed.
Both artists are conversant with interpretations of spatial, sculptural and installative systems, breaking with traditional media
„The wall“is part of a series: „the wall“, „the bridge“, „the wedge”. Others are in preparation. The work is textually accompanied by the poet Ferdinand Schmatz. Pils/Pulsinger develop for every exhibition a limited edition item. For the opening od the exhibition in Japan a electroaccoustic live production of Patrick Pulsinger (electronics) and Werner Dafeldecker (upright bass) is planned.

Pulsinger produces music since more than 10 years and is well known in many
contexts, due to a broad range of international releases and live appearances.
One exceptional excursion is his adaptation of the classic ballett piece: Swanlake
at the Volksoper Vienna in 1999. For that he gets the Austrian Förderungspreis
for Music together with Erdem Tunakan.
